Stingers Walk off Bulls in Extras

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo Stingers walk off the Durham Bulls 7-6 in front of a sellout crowd at Fifth Third Field on Saturday evening.

Dawel Lugo paced the Stingers (36-44) at the plate going four for four with a walk off walk en route to the victory over the Bulls (49-32). Jacob Robson, Victor Reyes and Danny Woodrow each collected multi-hit games as well.

Durham jumped to an early two run lead with one out in the second inning as Emilio Bonifacio tripled to plate Jason Coats and Dalton Kelly. Nathan Lukes then hit a sacrifice fly to deep right scoring Bonifacio. Joe McCarthy then doubled before scoring on a single by Kean Wong as the Bulls took a 4-0 advantage into the bottom of the inning.

Toledo countered by loading the bases with one out as Pete Kozma hit a sacrifice fly, plating Victor Reyes. Jacob Robson then drew a walk to load the bases for Jordy Mercer who lined out to third.

Lugo continued his hot hitting with his second double of the night to lead off the third for the Stingers. With two outs, Lugo scored on a double by Reyes. Danny Woodrow kept the rally alive with a single to plate Reyes bringing Toledo within one.

Robson tied the game in the fourth inning by blasting a 429-foot home run onto St. Clair Street.

After stretch time, Robson reached on a single to lead things off. After stealing second, he advanced to third on a ground out by Mercer. After hitting three doubles on the night, Lugo was intentionally walked. Willi Castro then singled to bring in Robson and give Toledo the lead going into the eighth inning.

Durham tied the game at five in the eighth inning as Lukes reached on an error and Kelly scored.

The game went to extras knotted at five and the Bulls plated the placed runner with two outs to go up one in the tenth frame.

Toledo took advantage in the bottom half of the inning as it loaded the bases with one out. Robson singled to bring in Reyes tying the game. With two outs and the bases loaded on a full count Lugo earned a walk to win the game for the Stingers.

What's Next:

The Toledo Stingers make the switch back to the Toledo Mud Hens for Sunday's match up with the Durham Bulls in the final game of the three-game series. First pitch is set for 4:05 p.m.
