Pawtucket evened the score in the top of the third inning against Red Wings' starter Preston Guilmet with a sacrifice fly off the bat of Josh Tobias, scoring Chris Owings. Rochester cut into the lead in the bottom of the seventh against Pawtucket reliever Jordan Weems. Nick Gordon and Brent Rooker led off the inning with consecutive walks, and moved to second and third on a wild pitch. Two batters later, Zander Wiel hit a sacrifice fly allowing Gordon to score and Rooker to advance to third, bringing the Wings back within three runs.

In the next at bat, Drew Maggi ripped and RBI single to left driving in Telis from Third. Gordon followed him up with a game-tying two RBI single. After Rooker was hit by a pitch, placing runners at first and third, Wilin Rosario launched a towering shot over the right field fence for his ninth home run of the year, giving Rochester a 9-6 lead. The Wings sent nine men to plate in the inning, and registered six hits while scoring six runs.
Ian Krol came on in relief of Torres in the top of the ninth with the bases loaded and one out and shut the door on the PawSox.
