Idaho Comes Back in 3rd to Beat Utah

Boise, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads scored two third period goals to defeat the Utah Grizzlies 3-2 Friday night in Boise.

Utah led 1-0 and 2-1 going to the third period but wasn't able to hold on for the win.

Blair Yaworski's fifth goal of the year 10:04 into the first period made it 1-0 Utah on the power-play as he fired the puck into a wide open net after intercepting a clearing attempt from behind the net by Idaho goalie Jerry Kuhn.

Utah made it 2-1 with 4:32 left in the second period just 3:37 after Idaho had tied the game. Mitch Wahl blasted a slapshot from the slot on the power-play for his sixth goal in seven games with Utah. Paul McIlveen and Jordan Foreman picked up assists.

Jacob Cepis scored on breakaways at 2:46 of the third and with just 3:48 left in the game to get Idaho the two points in regulation. Utah outshot Idaho 9-6 in the third and had several good chances but couldn't find the back of the net.

They are back home with the Steelheads Saturday and Monday at 7 p.m. Saturday is the team's annual Guns N Hoses night. The Grizzlies will be wearing specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off live after the game. Local police and firefighters will be playing charity games at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. A Grizzlies game ticket is good for all three games. Monday is Family Night. Kids under 12 enter free and there will be $1 Sodas and $1 Hot Dogs. Up to two free kids per paying adult.
