Boise, ID (2/20/13) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Wednesday that the Idaho Steelheads have acquired forward Rylan Galiardi from the San Francisco Bulls in exchange for future considerations.
The 26-year-old Galiardi is in his second full professional season out of Minnesota State-Mankato, where he was a teammate of Idaho forward Kael Mouillierat (currently with St. John's of the American Hockey League) along with former Steelheads Geoff Irwin, Mike Zacharias and Blake Friesen. He served as team captain his senior season and was also a three-time member of the All-Conference Academic Team.
Since turning pro, the Calgary, AB, product has 72 points in 105 ECHL games, including 21 points in 39 games with the Gwinnett Gladiators to start this season and another four points in five games with San Francisco before being dealt to Idaho. He had 47 points (18 goals, 29 assists) in 61 games for the Kelly Cup champion Florida Everblades last season as a rookie. He has also skated in 13 games at the AHL level - the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America.
