TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (35-13-3-2=75 points) will host the Stockton Thunder (27-20-5-4=63 points) for the 5th of 11 meetings this season. The Thunder will face the Reign again on Friday, Feb. 22. This season the teams have a 2-1-1-0 record against each other - each have one overtime win and one regulation win.
Ontario is on their longest winless streak of the season at four winless games in a row (0-2-2-0). Stockton is on a three-game winning streak.
HOW THEY RANK:
The Reign are first in the Pacific Division, second in the Western Conference, and second in the league with 75 points. The Thunder are next in line for the Pacific Division at second, they are fourth in the Western Conference, and 10th in the league.
TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE ADVANTAGE:
The Reign has had trouble converting power-play chances in recent games. In the last five games, the Reign have scored just one power-play goal on 20 opportunities with an extra skater.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Reign's penalty kill unit has also had some trouble giving up seven power-play goals in the last four games, four of them on Sunday, Feb. 17 against the Colorado Eagles.
WHERE ONTARIO REIGNS:
The Reign still lead the league in shootout with a 0.489 win rate when a shootout is the game decider.
Ontario is tied with Alaska allowing the least amount of shorthanded goals in their net with just two, they have allowed none while playing on home ice.
An average of 25 shots-against has the Reign atop the leaderboard for overall shots-against in the ECHL. The Reign have topped this category throughout the season.
