Brenner Reassigned to Toledo Walleye

(Toledo, OH) - Forward Tyler Brenner has been assigned to Toledo by the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.

Brenner appeared in two games earlier this season with the Toledo Walleye, scoring a goal. In 32 games earlier this season with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL, the Linwood, Ontario native has picked up 21 points (8g, 13a). Last season, Brenner split his first professional season between Toronto (AHL) and Reading in the ECHL with a total of 4 goals and 8 assists.

The 6'2", 207 pound forward played his college hockey at R.I.T., appearing 108 games while scoring 55 goals and 47 assists. He helped the Tigers reach the NCAA Frozen Four in 2010 and scored twice in a 6-2 win over New Hampshire in the East Regional. The 24 year old led R.I.T. in goal scoring his junior year with 26 goals, 10 of which came on the power play.

Toledo Walleye return home for three home games in three days over the coming weekend. Wheeling will be in Toledo on Friday, followed by Fort Wayne and Cincinnati to round out the weekend.
