Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - Up against the ECHL's goaltender of the week, the Las Vegas Wranglers fell 4-2 to the Bakersfield Condors tonight while outshooting the team 49-31.
Bakersfield made up for lost time in the first by scoring two goals in a 1:45 minute span. At the 12:04 mark, Condors forward Francis Verreault potted the first goal of the night, and forward Evan Trupp backed him up moments later for a quick 2-0 lead that lasted through the end of the period.
Midway through the second, Wranglers forward Scott Pitt put Las Vegas on the board, and center Eric Lampe turned around 39 later and tallied a power play goal to knot the game 2-2. The tie briefly carried over into the third as Verreault recorded his second goal of the night three minutes into the period to regain the one-goal lead for the Condors. Bakersfield secured the 4-2 win on an empty-net goal from forward Tyler Maxwell. Despite putting more pucks on net, the Wranglers couldn't solve Condors goaltender Brian Stewart, who was named ECHL Goaltender of the Week earlier this morning.
The Wranglers play three road games against the Alaska Aces before returning home for a three-game stretch against the San Francisco Bulls and Colorado Eagles starting March 1.
Celebrating 10 seasons of Wranglers hockey this year, group events are available at all home games, including pre-game ice skating parties, private luxury suites, and rink-side catered party boxes. Groups of ten or more can sit together starting at $13 per ticket, and feature perks such as in-game group recognition and "buy one, get one free" Chuck-A-Puck vouchers. Take advantage of the best deals by calling the Wranglers front office at (702) 471-PUCK . The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at Orleans Arena, located next to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.
