IceHogs Dominate River Otters 6-1

January 12, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Missouri River Otters News Release

The Rockford IceHogs exploded for four goals in the third period en route to a 6-1 victory against the Missouri River Otters Wednesday night at the Family Arena.

The IceHogs scored the lone goal in the first period. Terry Harrison weaved his way through the Otters zone and fed a pass to J.F. Dufour, who rifled a top-shelf wrist shot that beat Kevin Reiter.

A tremendous individual effort from Jim Montgomery allowed the River Otters to tie the game in the second period. The speedy center picked up a puck at the left point, skated to the left face-off circle, and snapped a low shot behind Michel Robinson. The IceHogs took the lead with one minute remaining in the period. Olivier Proulx skated in on the left wing, froze Reiter with a fake shot, and roofed a wrister into the net.

Rockford completely dominated the final period, getting goals from Chris Gobert, Brent Sullivan, Jason Ralph, and Harrison. Robinson made 28 saves to pick up the victory for the IceHogs, while Reiter made 22 saves in defeat.

The Otters play the Mallards Friday night at the MARK of the Quad Cities. The puck drops at 7:00 CST, and all the action can be heard on the River Otters B2 Webcast, which can be found at the River Otters website!
