LAST WEEK'S RESULTS:
TUESDAY, FEB. 6 - TEXAS WILDCATTERS 6 - PENSACOLA ICE PILOTS 2:
The Pensacola Ice Pilots concluded a four-game home stand with a 6-2 loss to the Texas Wildcatters last Tuesday night. The Ice Pilots were 2-2 at The Hangar during that stretch of games. After the Ice Pilots netted the game's first goal, the Wildcatters scored the next six straight to lead 6-1. The Blue and Gold would add one late in game to round out the scoring. Travis Lisabeth and Dan Sullivan were the goal scorers for Pensacola. Rob Rankin, John Hecimovic, Mike Wirll and Sergei Ogorodnikov earned the assists. Evan Lindsay started in goal for the Ice Pilots but was replaced by Michael Mole early in the second period.
FRIDAY, FEB. 9 - FLORIDA EVERBLADES 5 - PENSACOLA ICE PILOTS 3:
The Pensacola Ice Pilots out-worked the Everblades for most of the game, but it wasn't enough in a 5-3 setback on Friday night. After trailing 3-0 early in the second period, the power play got the Ice Pilots back into the game. Rob Rankin scored from Sergei Ogorodnikov and Rene Gauthier. Ogorodnikov then got into the act with a goal from Nate Metcalf and Dan Sullivan. After the Everblades tallied early in the third period to make it 4-2, the Ice Pilots notched another when Greg Watson scored from Rob Rankin. The Everblades added an insurance goal 30 seconds after the Ice Pilots goal. Penalty Killing was a strong point for Pensacola, as the Everblades went 0 for 5. The Everblades out shot the Ice Pilots by a narrow 39 to 37 margin.
SATURDAY, FEB. 10 - FLORIDA EVERBLADES 5 - PENSACOLA ICE PILOTS 1:
Rene Gauthier scored his first goal as a professional but it would be the only goal the Ice Pilots would tally in a 5-1 loss to the Everblades on Saturday night. Gauthier's goal was set up by John Hecimovic and Rob Rankin. The turning point in the game was early in the second when the Everblades tallied two goals 66 seconds apart. The Ice Pilots out shot the Everblades 32-29 in the game.
