Bryan Young Recalled To Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers, has announced defenseman Bryan Young has been recalled from Stockton to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

Young, 20, has appeared in 17 games with the Thunder this season, posting five assists with a +3 rating and 24 penalty minutes.

A fifth round selection of the Oilers (146th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Young made his professional debut with Milwaukee of the AHL this season, appearing in 22 games with six penalty minutes.

The Ennismore, Ontario native appeared in two preseason games with the Oilers in 2006-07 training camp, where Edmonton went 1-1-0 with Young in the lineup. Previously, Young spent his four-year (2002-06) junior hockey career with the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League, scoring 30 points (1g-29a) in 186 career games. In 2005-06, Young helped guide Peterborough to the Ontario Hockey League's Robertson Cup league title.

The Thunder returns to play on Wednesday, February 14 with a 7:05 p.m. road game against the Victoria Salmon Kings. The game can be heard live on the internet (free-of-charge) and is available for viewing for a $6 "pay-per-view" charge at www.stocktonthunder.com (courtesy of B2 Networks).

The Thunder drew 228,364 fans to Stockton Arena in its inaugural season, the ECHL's best attendance mark for 2005-06.
