TUESDAY, NOV. 29 -- ICE PILOTS 6 - LYNX 5: The Pensacola Ice Pilots fired six first-period goals and then held on for a 6-5 victory over the Augusta Lynx on Tuesday night in Augusta, Ga. It was the Ice Pilots second straight win on the road and third victory in total on the season. This was the third game of four straight between the two teams with the final one set for Thursday night in Augusta. Mike Ayers posted the win in goal, his first of the season. The Ice Pilots took advantage of some poor Augusta goaltending in the first period. Mike Wirll netted a goal 32 seconds into the opening frame that started the ball rolling for Pensacola. After the Lynx tied the game, the Ice Pilots tallied five straight times. Rob Rankin had a pair, while Dallas Steward and Colin Hemingway added single markers. The six-goal first period equals the largest out burst by the Ice Pilots this season and second against the Lynx.

The Augusta Lynx marched back in the final 40 minutes with three goals in the second and a fourth in the final 20, but they couldn't get any closer.

Augusta out shot Pensacola 39-28 including 18-3 in the third period alone.

Nate Metcalf was plus 4, while Rob Rankin and Nikita Korovkin each were plus three. Rankin, Hemingway and Wirll all led the Ice Pilots in shots with five apiece.

LYNX 4 - ICE PILOTS 3 SHOOTOUT: The Pensacola Ice Pilots rallied from a 3-0 first period deficit, but fell 4-3 in a shootout to the Augusta Lynx on Friday night at The Hangar. The Lynx improved their record to 9-7-0-0 for 18 points, while the Ice Pilots fell to 2-9-1-1 for 6 points. Despite the loss, the Ice Pilots earned their sixth point in six games at 2-2-1-1. Augusta scored one early in the first period, added a second goal midway through the stanza and then netted their third with eight seconds remaining. They chased the starter Michael Mole who was replaced by Mike Ayers.

The Ice Pilots rally began at the 33-second mark of the period when Travis Lisabeth scored from Dwayne Hay and Mike Wirll to make it 3-1. Dwayne Hay scored a power play goal at the 12:30 mark on a great pass from newcomer Ed Hill to cut the deficit to one. In the final 20 minutes, the Ice Pilots kept shooting pucks towards the goal and the hard work would be rewarded when Travis Lisabeth would get his second from Mike Wirll and Brent Henley to tie the contest. Nothing was settled in overtime and in the shootout both goaltenders were sharp with Aaron Slattengren getting the lone goal, his second of the game.

Pensacola out shot Augusta 43-42 and didn't allow the Lynx a power play goal on five opportunities. The Ice Pilots had one power play goal on five chances. Mike Wirll led all shooters with eight shots on goal, while Dan Sullivan had six.

LYNX 3 - ICE PILOTS 2: The Pensacola Ice Pilots surrendered an early third-period goal and fell 3-2 to the Augusta Lynx on Saturday night at The Hangar at The Pensacola Civic Center. The Ice Pilots raced out to a 1-0 advantage 13 seconds into the opening period when Travis Lisabeth scored from Dwayne Hay and Mike Wirll. That goal prompted fans to shower the ice with Teddy Bears and stuffed animals as part of the annual Teddy Bear Toss. The toys will be collected and distributed to children at area hospitals as well as other beneficial childrens' organizations. Pensacola had a 5 on 3 power play for more than 90 seconds late in the opening period, and an extended power play thanks to a four-minute minor but failed to score.

In the second period Augusta tied the game up 1-1, before the Ice Pilots regained the lead when Colin Hemingway scored on the power play from Derek Krestanovich and Jordan Krestanovich to make it 2-1. Just near the end of the period, Augusta pulled even again on a power play goal to make it 2-2. It was just the second power-play goal allowed by the Ice Pilots in their last 37 times shorthanded. The final period was a see-saw affair with both teams having good chances to score and it would be Miles Zimmer netting the winner at the 7:38 mark. The Ice Pilots threw everything they had in the final five minutes to try and tie the game and came close when Brent Henley's shot went off the post. Brett Jaeger posted his first win of the season in goal, while Mike Ayers took the loss. The Ice Pilots out shot Augusta 37-28 with 32 of the shots coming in the first 40 minutes.

Derek Krestanovich and Mario Joly led the Ice Pilots in shots on goal with five.
