McLean, Franck Recalled to Penguins

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have recalled center Kurtis McLean from the Wheeling Nailers, and have signed Nailers goaltender Andy Franck to a Professional Tryout, it was announced on Wednesday.

McLean, 26, ranks tied for fifth in the ECHL in both scoring (24 points) and goals (11) through 16 games this season.

The native of Kirkland Lake, ON, split last season between Wheeling and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He recorded 56 points and a team-leading 31 goals in 41 games with the Nailers, and added 15 points (4+11) in 32 games with the Penguins. McLean tied the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton record for points in a game with five (1+4) on January 18 against the Syracuse Crunch.

Franck, 25, has a 7-9-0 record, a 3.53 goals against average and a .901 save percentage. His seven victories place him tied for fifth in the ECHL as of November 29.

The native of Lakewood, OH appeared in 55 games with the Nailers last season, recording a 33-15-5 record with a 2.28 goals against average and .919 save percentage.

Both players are expected to be available for tonight's game against the Syracuse Crunch.
