LONG BEACH, Calif. – It was a dominating game for the Long Beach Ice Dogs (28-12-4) who took it to the Fresno Falcons (22-16-4) for the second straight night. The Ice Dogs not only lead the West Division with 60 points, but also take over the best record in the ECHL.

The game started rather slow, with the first period ending scoreless. However, 5:23 into the second period the Ice Dogs caught on fire, getting the first goal and eventual game winner by Cory Urquhart on the power play. Just two minutes later, Marco Rosa scored shorthanded to make it 2-0. With less than five minutes to go in the second, Christian Larrivee scored on the power play to give the Ice Dogs a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the final frame.

It was more of the same in the third period, as Evan Cheverie scored a power play goal at 6:38, and Nathan Martz added another at 11:36. Larrivee had three points on the night, with a goal and two assists and Chris Madden earned his fourth shutout of the season stopping all 35 Fresno shots. The Ice Dogs power play converted 3-5 while holding Fresno to 0-2.
