
Boudreau Named AHL All-Star Game Coach

BILOXI, Miss. â The American Hockey League has announced that Bruce Boudreau, who coached the Mississippi Sea Wolves from 1996-99 highlighted by winning the 1999 Kelly Cup Championship, will serve as the head coach of the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star team at next month's 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic.
Boudreau is in his fourth season coaching the Manchester Monarchs in New Hampshire, after spending two years, from 1999-2001, behind the bench of the Lowell Lock Monsters in Massachusetts.
At 32-9-3-1 for a .756 winning percentage, Boudreau's Monarchs are guaranteed to have the AHL's best points percentage after play today, which is the pre-determined date to decide the PlanetUSA coach.
This is the first AHL All-Star appearance for Boudreau, who will have four of his Monarchs players at the event, which will be held on February 14 at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester.
The Sea Wolves get back into action at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday against the Texas Wildcatters at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. A postgame player appearance will follow at Mario The Baker, which is open for all ages, located at 1753 Beach Boulevard in Biloxi.
