Titans Shutout By Nailers, 1-0

WHEELING, WV (January 30, 2005) - The Trenton Titans saw their road winless streak stretch to five games with a 1-0 shutout loss to the Wheeling Nailers in front of 2,383 at WesBanco Arena.

Despite being outshot 17-4 in the first period, Trenton was able to skate into the intermission tied 0-0.

The Nailers would break the scoreless tie on the power play when Brendon Hodge's centering pass deflected off the skate of Evgeny Lazarev and past Chris Houle at 7:50 into second period.

Wheeling goaltender Joe Exter allowed the Nailers' lead to hold up making 26 saves in the contest. The second-year net minder ups his record to 4-7-0, while registering his second shutout in the last starts.

Houle played strong in net for Trenton turning away 35 of 36 shots, but falls to 9-5-4 on the season. The Titans went scoreless in three power play opportunities and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
