Three Second Period Goals Lift Royals Over Bombers

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers dropped a 4-2 decision to the Reading Royals in front of 2,416 at the Nutter Center Sunday afternoon.

Following a scoreless first period, the Royals opened a 1-0 lead when Eric Fortier beat MIKE AYERS just 10 seconds into the second period. Jon Francisco (9:25) and Mike Sandbeck (PPG, 15:21) gave Reading a 3-0 lead, before JANNE JOKILA put the Bombers on the board at 17:39 of period two.

Jokila, then, pulled Dayton within one with his second goal of the game and 14th of the season 32 seconds into period three. Fortier scored his second goal of the game at 7:54, and the Royals held on for the 4-2 victory. Reading is 3-0-0 against the Bombers with 7 regular season meetings remaining.

Before the powerplay goal from Sandbeck, Dayton had successfully killed off 44 straight shorthanded situations over the last 9 games.
