LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach Ice Dogs (10-8-2) got back in the win column Friday night, defeating the Greenville Grrrowl (9-10-3) by a score of 4-2. The win snapped the Ice Dogs six game winless streak and now gives them 22 points in the West Division, just 6 behind first place Bakersfield.

Joe Cardarelli got the Ice Dogs on the board first, with a power play goal at 13:31 of the first period. Gary Zinck then gave the Ice Dogs a 2-0 lead midway through the second. Greenville cut the deficit in half late in the second period on a goal by Brock Radunski. Then just 3:48 into the third period, the Grrrowl tied it up at 2 with a goal by Kevin Begin.

After Greenville tied the score, Chris Kenady gave the Long Beach fans reason to cheer, scoring just 20 seconds later to give the Dogs a 3-2 lead. Christian Larrivee topped it off with a breakaway goal with 1:09 remaining to seal the 4-2 victory. Olivier Michaud earned his second win of the season, stopping 32 shots. The Ice Dogs converted 1-3 on the power play while stopping all five Greenville power play opportunities.

The Ice Dogs play again tomorrow night when they seek revenge against the Fresno Falcons who beat them here last Saturday. It will be the final game of a four-game home stand. For ticket information, call (562) ICE DOGS or visit www.icedogs.com.
