
Fresno Holds On for Shootout Win, 5-4

Fresno, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors fought back from a three-goal deficit to force overtime, but the Fresno Falcons earned the extra point with a 5-4 shootout victory at the Save Mart Center in Fresno on Friday night.
Scoring came in bunches midway through the opening frame. All four first period goals were scored in the span of 3:26 and Fresno led 3-1 after 20 minutes. Brad Mehalko netted his 12th of the season to give him a goal in four straight games.
Bakersfield cut the deficit early in the second period, with rookie Brett Lutes notching his fourth of the season just 40 seconds in. Fresno regained the two-goal advantage later in the period, only to have Todd Alexander once again pull the Condors within a goal just 46 seconds later.
The Condors continued to battle in the third and finally got the equalizer at 9:14. Guy Dupuis' slapshot from the top of the right circle tickled the twine for his second goal in as many nights. Regulation ended with a 4-4 score, and neither team could break the tie in overtime. In the shootout Fresno prevailed, with Dan Tessier beating Condors G Kelly Shields for the winner as their fifth shooter.
The Condors return to the ice at Centennial Garden on Saturday, December 11th against the Greenville Grrrowl. The first 2,000 kids 12 and under will receive a Condors backpack, courtesy of KGET- TV 17 and Subway. In addition, the Condors are teaming up with R&D Leather Furniture on the Stay Focused Ministries Toy Drive that night. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate and receive a voucher good for a $1 terrace ticket to that game.

Season and group tickets may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden.
