Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs (23 -40- 5) faced off against the Fresno Falcons (21 -41- 6) in a battle to stay out of last place in the Pacific division.

The Dogs left winger Jerome Marois displayed his talent as he scored his 19th goal of the season only 1:45 into the game. Marois, who had a hat-trick on March 20th, tallied his second goal of this game as Mike Ouellet delivered a beautiful assist at the 10:18 mark of the first.

Late in the period a premature whistle led to a disallowed Ice Dog goal which was subsequently followed by an unassisted Fresno score. The goal was put in the net by Daniel Bohac at 18:33 ending the first frame with the score 2-1.

The Ice Dogs continued to dominate early in the second as Lee Sorochan dropped a perfect pass behind him to a waiting Nolan Graham for a power play goal just 2:21 into the frame. Long Beach continued to scorch the net as Alex Kim scored an amazing goal by ricocheting the puck off the back of the goalie at 4:10.

The Ice Dog barrage continued into the final period when Reid Goolsby recorded his first goal in a Long Beach uniform at the 4:30 mark. The game ended with Long Beach winning by a score of 5-1 with Jerome Marois receiving the No. 1 star of the game honor.
