Wildcatters Defeat Pensacola 4-1

PENSACOLA, Florida (Ticker) -- Mark Scally had 45 saves to help the Texas Wildcatters beat the Pensacola Ice Pilots, 4-1. Scally, who entered the contest with a .929 save percentage, turned away 15 shots in each period and made 17 saves while Pensacola was on the power play. John Snowden, a rookie who leads the team with 13 goals and 25 points in 33 home games, tied the score at 1-1 midway through the middle period for Texas. Lukas Smital snapped the tie with his 17th goal of the year at the 9:40 mark of the final stanza for the Wildcatters. Just 2:03 later, Cory Morgan tallied on the power play for Texas, which broke its five-game losing streak. Brad Cruikshank opened the scoring 2:41 into the second period for the Ice Pilots, who went 0-for-10 on the power play despite entering the game with the second-best power-play unit in the ECHL (22 percent). Brian Eklund had 14 saves in the loss.
