Gladiators Ice 'Gators, 2-0
March 28, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlanta Gladiators News Release
Michael Garnett recorded his second shutout in the past three games and his fourth of the season as he turned aside 43 shots to shut out the Louisiana IceGators 2-0 on Sunday at the Cajundome.
Delayed by an hour due to ice plant problems at the Cajundome, the Gladiators and the IceGators skated to a scoreless tie through the opening period.
Tyler Deis gave the Gladiators a 1-0 lead four minutes into the second period as he deflected a centering feed from Evan Nielsen past Gustafson to open the scoring. Wes Swinson also added an assist on the goal for the Gladiators.
Cam Brown put the contest away with an empty net goal with 26 seconds remaining in the third as he stripped an IceGator of the puck in the neutral zone and fired the puck into the empty net.
