Condors "Rosie" In Vegas, 4-1
March 28, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
Las Vegas, Nevada â Paul Rosebush's shorthanded goal in the third period snapped a tie game and helped lead the Condors to a 4-1 victory over the Las Vegas Wranglers in front of 6,406 fans at the Orleans Arena on Saturday night. The game was the final road match for the Condors of the season.
Bakersfield dominated early in the game, at one point having a 10-3 lead in shots on goal. They took the lead on the scoreboard when Todd Alexander slipped home his 10th goal of the season at 2:08 on the power play. Bakersfield has scored the first goal of the game in four consecutive matches.
The score remained 1-0 throughout the second frame as well, mainly due to the play of Vegas netminder Dany Sabourin. Sabourin, who played four games in the National Hockey League earlier this season, stopped 20 shots during the middle stanza alone, and had 31 stops through two periods.
Vegas pulled even in the first minute of the third period with a tally by Chris Wheaton just 52 seconds in. But, not to be denied, the Condors stormed back with three straight over the rest of the game, working out a 4-1 lead. Paul Rosebush notched his 26th of the season at 7:03, shorthanded, and that proved to be the game winner. Jason Jackman scored for the second straight game at 11:56 and Andrew Ianiero extended his point streak to nine games by tallying his 18th of the season and putting the nail in the coffin. Bakersfield had a season-high 48 shots on goal.
