Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach Ice Dogs (39-20-8) were looking to go ahead of the Bakersfield Condors (38-20-10) by four points in the standings, but instead find themselves tied with 86 points in the West Division. The Ice Dogs have five games remaining, while the Condors only have four.

The Ice Dogs got on the board first just 1:34 into the opening period with a goal by Michael Lambert who was just reassigned by the Hamilton Bulldogs earlier in the day. But just ten seconds later, Vlad Serov of the Condors scored unassisted to tie it at one. At 12:23, Joe Cardarelli put the Ice Dogs ahead 2-1, but just 1:17 later the Condors' Lars-Peder Nagel tied it again as it would remain heading into the second.

The Bakersfield Condors continued to put goals on the board, scoring a total of six goals between the second and third periods before Evan Cheverie scored the Ice Dogs' third of the game at 14:44 of the third period. Vlad Serov and Lars-Peder Nagel of the Condors each scored two goals, and Davis Parley won his first game with Bakersfield, making 32 saves. Sebastien Centomo was credited with his first loss with Long Beach, giving up four goals on 21 shots and being relieved in the second period by Olivier Michaud.

The Ice Dogs next game is Friday, April 1st, when the first place Alaska Aces come to town. Game time is at 7:30 PM. For more information, call (562) ICE-DOGS or visit www.icedogs.com.
