Houston shines in Asheville loss

(Hickory, NC) Dan Houston did not allow a hit until the seventh inning in a 3-0 Hickory win on Monday night. The win for Hickory avoids the sweep and ends the Tourists five game winning streak. Asheville was held to just four hits all singles after hitting eight homeruns in the first three games of the series.

Dan Houston (7-9) tossed seven innings and allowed three runs on four hits in the loss. Houston walked one and struck out six and did not allow a hit until the seventh frame

Neil Ramirez went five shutout innings for Hickory in a no decision. Ramirez struck out five and walked one before being pulled for Yoon-Hee Nam. Nam (1-0) tossed three flawless innings to earn the win. .

Hickory snapped a scoreless ballgame in the seventh inning with a single from Christian Santana and a Jared Bolden double. De Los Santos then singled in Bolden and come around to score on an Ed Koncel double. All three runs off Houston came in the seventh inning. Michael Marbry tossed scoreless inning of relief for Asheville.
