Houston gives Ducks a problem

HOUSTON, TX - Rastislav Pavlikovsky netted a pair of goals 18 seconds apart in the third period to lead the Houston Aeros to a 5-2 victory over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Monday at the Compaq Center.

Curtis Murphy and Cory Larose also found the back of the net in the third period for Houston, which outshot Cincinnati, 42-16, en route to its sixth straight win.

Dieter Kochan turned aside 14 shots, raising his record to 11-5-2.

Peter Podhradsky and Tony Martensson tallied for Cincinnati, which has lost its last six, five in regulation and one in overtime.

Ilja Bryzgalov finished with 37 saves in defeat for the Ducks, who allowed 40-or-more shots for the 11th time this season and fell seven games below .500 (10-17-6-4) for the first time since April 9, 2000 (30-37-9-4).
