Rumble up, Svitovback down

Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons announced today that the Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled defenseman Darren Rumble from the Falcons. The Falcons also announced that center Alexander Svitov has been reassigned to Springfield by the Lightning.

Rumble leads all Falcons defensemen in scoring this season with five goals and 17 assists for 22 points in 32 games played. He is 3rd on the Falcons in scoring and is tied for the team lead in assists this season. Rumble has played in two games with the Lightning this season not registering a point.

Svitov has played in six games with the Falcons this season collecting two goals and two assists with a +4 rating. He scored his first pro goal on November 11th against Providence. In 25 games with the Lightning this season, Svitov has two goals and two assists with 32 penalty minutes. He was the Lightning's 1st choice (3rd overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

The Falcons will continue a seven-game road trip this weekend when they head to St. John's, Newfoundland for two games against the Maple Leafs.
