Game Notes: The Rochester Americans host the Syracuse Crunch tonight at The Blue Cross Arena at 7:05 p.m.... The game is the third of 12 meetings between the two teams... The Amerks are 2-0-0 against the Crunch this season... Tonight's game will be broadcast on WHTK 1280-AM and on the web at www.amerks.com... The game will be shown tape delayed on Time Warner Cable Channel 98 at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4th... Rochester will wear its red sweaters tonight against the Crunch... An autograph session in the upper atrium lobby will follow the game.
All-time series: Rochester leads the all-time series with a 45-34-11 record... The Amerks have already equaled their win total from last year against the Crunch, recording two wins in two meetings... The Amerks were only 2-6-3-1 against Syracuse last season.
Amerk Notes: Rochester (14-12-7-2, 37 points) enters tonight's contest against Syracuse in second place in the Central Division... The Amerks are coming off a 3-2 win over the Crunch on Saturday night... Goaltender Ryan Miller has a 9-1-1 record in the last 11 games... Miller is tied for eighth in the AHL with a 2.33 goals-against average... Winger Jason Botterill leads the team and the AHL with 21 goals... He is tied for eighth in the league with 33 points (21+12)... Sean McMorrow is second in the league with 181 penalty minutes... He will miss tonight's game because he is suspended pending further review from the AHL... The team has recalled left wing Brad Wingfield from Elmira (UHL), and Ben Knopp from Dayton (ECHL)... Center Blake Bellefeuille has recorded a point in two of his last three games (1+1)... Defenseman Paul Manning has recorded a point in three of his last six games (three assists) since returning from an injury... Center Brad Moran is two assists short of 50 in his AHL career and two games shy of 150 AHL games.
Next Game: Rochester makes its first trip to Texas for three games this weekend... The Amerks play San Antonio once and Houston twice during the three-game road swing through the Lone Star state...
