Houston Aeros News Release

HOUSTON, Texas - Houston Aeros Charities (HAC) will reveal the charity jersey used for the annual "Jerseys off Their Backs" fundraiser this Friday, January 25th. The charity jerseys will be worn by Aeros players, at select games, in the upcoming months. The auction will be open on the dates the jerseys are worn and on Saturday, April 12th, the auction will conclude during the 2nd intermission. The winners will go on the ice at the conclusion of the game to meet the player who wore the jersey they purchased. "Jerseys off Their Backs" is a fundraiser held by HAC that raises money for the local charities which they support.

Helping the Aeros kick off this fundraising initiative and unveil the jersey will be Joe Savery -- a former Rice University Baseball All-American -- who was selected during the 1st round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. While interning with the Aeros, Joe had responsibilities with the charities department and has committed to giving back by making a donation.

The Aeros stay home and host the San Antonio Rampage in back-to-back games this Friday and Saturday nights, both at 7:35 p.m. Besides the unveiling on Friday, Saturday night is the Aeros' Hockey Visor Giveaway for the first 3,000 fans entering Toyota Center. Tickets are still available for both nights so call 713.974.PUCK or visit Aeros.com to get your tickets today!
