Hot Rods Release 2010 Midwest League Schedule

(Bowling Green, KY)- The Bowling Green Hot Rods, Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, released the 2010 season schedule on Friday. The upcoming season will be the Hot Rods first as a member of the Midwest League after opening their inaugural season in the South Atlantic League. The 140 game docket features 70 home games at Bowling Green Ballpark and another 70 road games against teams from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

After beginning the season on the road, the first home stand begins on Sunday, April 11 against the Dayton Dragons, affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. After three games with the Dragons, the Hot Rods host the West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers) for a three game series, concluding the first home stand.

The first series with Dayton marks the beginning of a 19 game season series between the teams, featuring six of those meeting at Bowling Green Ballpark. The Hot Rods also play home games with the affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Quad Cities River Bandits, from July 21-23. The affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, the Peoria Chiefs, will host the Hot Rods for a three game series beginning July 17.

The Hot Rods open the 2010 season on the road with a three game series against the Fort Wayne TinCaps (San Diego Padres) on Thursday, April 8. The TinCaps and Hot Rods square off 27 times, including 14 meetings in Bowling Green. The Hot Rods close their second season on the road, ending the year with a six game trip through Dayton and Great Lakes. Game times for 2010 will be announced at a later date.
