LEXINGTON, KY - The Hickory Crawdads fell, 6-2, against the Lexington Legends in the finale of the series, before 4,851 fans at Applebee's Park on Friday night.

The Crawdads (28-32, 60-69) struck first with a run in the top of the second against LHP David Duncan (5-3). LF Cristian Santana started the inning with a double to left field, before RF Aja Barto was hit by a pitch to reach first as well. Duncan retired the next two Crawdads, but C Leonel De Los Santos ripped a two-out, RBI single to left field to put Hickory ahead, 1-0, scoring Santana from second.

Lexington (25-35, 61-69) responded with five runs against RHP Jake Brigham (2-9) in the bottom of the second inning, which was interrupted by a momentary, nine-minute rain delay. The run-scoring blows in the inning were a two-run single by SS Chris Jackson and a three-run double by CF Jay Austin, accounting for the five runs.

Brigham navigated through the third and fourth with no further runs scoring, and RHP Carlos Pimentel dealt a scoreless fifth before the Crawdads drew within three runs with a tally in the top of the sixth. DH Vinny DiFazio reached on an error to start the inning, and came in from second later in the frame on a two-out RBI double by 3B Matt West, making it 5-2.

However, Lexington stretched the lead back to four runs in the bottom of the sixth. 2B Albert Cartwright hit a solo homer to start the inning and put the Legends into a 6-2 lead.

Pimentel and RHP Fabio Castillo strung together scoreless seventh and eighth innings to keep the Crawdads within striking distance. Former Crawdads closer, RHP Matt Nevarez, took over on the mound for Lexington in the top of the ninth and closed the 6-2 win for the Legends with a scoreless frame of work. Brigham was tagged with the loss for the Crawdads, while Duncan registered the win for the Legends.
