Host of Moves Greet Blades' Return Home

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that two more players have been recalled to the American Hockey League and a pair of players have been added to the roster.

Heading Up

In addition to yesterday's recall of goaltender Jaroslav Janus to the Norfolk Admirals, the Blades saw their other net-minder Bobby Goepfert (pronounced: GEF-ert) recalled to the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL. The call-up is his second to Charlotte this season, although he did not see any action in his previous visit to the Checkers. In 41 games with the Everblades this season the 27-year-old is 23-12-3 with a 2.73 GAA.

The Everblades also saw forward Cedric McNicoll get recalled to Charlotte today. McNicoll returns to the Checkers for a second stint this season after posting six points (2g, 4a) in six games during his first call-up from Jan. 6 - 18. With the Everblades this season the 22-year-old has picked up 23 points (7g, 16a) in 29 games.

Joining the Roster

To fill the goaltending void, the Everblades signed free agent goaltender Mike Zacharias. The 25-year-old began the 2010-11 season by playing in 20 games with Idaho where he posted a 7-7-5 record with a 2.73 GAA and a .907 save percentage. Following his release by the Steelheads the Reign signed Zacharias (pronounced: ZAK-ar-eye-us) where he then appeared in 15 games going 4-9-2 with a 3.75 GAA and an .895 save percentage.

The native of Plymouth, Minnesota is in his second professional season after debuting in the professional ranks last season with Ontario, going 10-6-3 with a 3.28 GAA and a .894 save percentage in 24 games. Prior to joining the professional ranks Zacharias completed a four-year collegiate career at Minnesota State University at Mankato. In 102 career games with the Mavericks, he was 45-39-16 with a 2.71 GAA.

Additionally, the Everblades today saw the return of forward Dusty Collins from his most recent AHL call-up to Oklahoma City. Collins returns to the Blades where he has appeared in one game since being acquired in a trade with Ontario on March 11.

Since he was acquired, the 26-year-old has made two trips to the AHL playing in three games with Toronto and Oklahoma City. Overall this year Collins has played in 13 AHL games with Toronto, Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Manitoba registering one goal. In the ECHL this season with Ontario Collins played in 49 game notching 26 points (9g, 17a).
