Reading's Sarauer Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Reading Royals left wing Andrew Sarauer is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for March 14-20.

The 26 year old scored five goals and assisted on five others as the ‚¬Ë†Royals went 2-1-0 in a three-game series against Elmira to clinch the Atlantic Division championship.

Sarauer registered his third career hat trick in an 8-5 loss to Elmira on Friday and then tied a career-high with six points (2g-4a) in a 9-2 win over the Jackals on ‚¬Ë†Saturday. He ended the week with an assist in a 2-0 victory at Elmira on ‚¬Ë†Sunday.

A native of Outlook, Saskatchewan, Sarauer leads the ‚¬Ë†Royals with 34 assists and 57 points and is tied for the team lead with 23 goals. He is tied for fourth in the league with 28 power-play points (11g-17a).

Sarauer has 166 points (70g-96a) in 173 career ECHL ‚¬Ë†games with Johnstown and Reading, and has two points (1g-1a) in 20 AHL ‚¬Ë†games with Lake Erie, ‚¬Ë†Norfolk, Rockford and Hershey.

On behalf of Andrew Sarauer a case of pucks will be donated to a Reading youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 23,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
