March 22, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon has been loaned to the club by the Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League. Bourdon is expected to be in the line up when the Road Warriors visit South Carolina tonight.
Bourdon, 21, is back in the Upstate after a five game stay with the Phantoms. He was originally loaned to Greenville on March 4, 2011 for the Road Warriors' three-game home stand against Trenton and Elmira. He racked up two assists in his ECHL debut against the Devils on March 4, including the primary helper on Mark Voakes' overtime game winner. The 6-0, 225-pound defender was a plus-2, had two shots on goal, and registered 14 penalty minutes in his three-game weekend with the Road Warriors.
A second-year professional, Bourdon has skated in 38 games with the Phantoms this season and produced eight points (1G, 7A). He spent all of his rookie season in Adirondack and racked up 19 points (2G, 17A) over 61 games. A third-round draft pick of Philadelphia (#67 overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry draft, Bourdon racked up 147 points (32G, 115A) over 186 games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He was a QMJHL First-Team All Star in the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons.
Bourdon needs to play two more games with the Road Warriors to be eligible for the playoff roster.
