GREENSBORO, N.C. (July 9, 2014) - One day after Kannapolis pounded out a season-high 18 hits, the Intimidators were held to a season-low two hits as the Greensboro Grasshoppers avoided a sweep with a 3-0 victory on Wednesday afternoon at NewBridge Bank Park. Kannapolis (43-45, 14-7 Second Half) fell back into a tie for first with Greensboro.

J.T. Riddle led off the bottom of the fourth with a home run (5) to right field. Later in the frame, Avery Romero's sac-fly drove in Rehiner Cordova for a 2-0 lead.

Austin Dean tacked on a run in the eighth inning with a base hit off Ben Brewster, scoring Cordova.

Kannapolis mustered just two hits, singles by Jeremy Dowdy and Trey Michalczewski, for the team's lowest offensive output of the season. This is the fifth shutout loss of the season for Kannapolis, which came into today's game having scored 36 runs over the team's previous three games.
