OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals next homestand opens with a George Brett jersey giveaway and concludes with Ryne Sandberg's first managerial appearance at Rosenblatt Stadium. The Royals host the Albuquerque Isotopes on Saturday, April 24 at 7:05 p.m. to begin a four-game series. "Ryno," in his first season as Iowa's manager, is at the 'Blatt for a unique one-game visit on Thursday, April 29. Exciting promotions include:
Saturday, April 24, 7:05 p.m.: Rosenblatt's gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the 1st 1,500 fans will receive a 1973 replica George Brett Omaha Royals powder blue jersey, courtesy of ConAgra Foods. The jerseys are fully button-down and are made of high-quality materials. The night is also presented by 1620 the Zone, WOWT and The Reader.
Sunday, April 25, 1:35 p.m.: It's U.S. Bank Family FUNday, with clowns, face painting and balloon art. Subway Kids Club members get in FREE and following the game all kids are invited to run the bases with Casey, presented by Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Plus, it's a Nebraska College Savings Program "Hit the Books" day: kids who completed the Hit the Books reading program earned a ticket to the game. The day is also presented by KGBI 100.7 FM, Fox 42 and Family Spectrum Magazine.
Monday, April 26, 6:35 p.m.: Rotella's Italian Bakery presents $1 hot dog night - Hebrew National hot dogs are just a buck! Plus, it's another Nebraska College Savings Program "Hit the Books" game. The night is also presented by 89.7 The River.
Tuesday, April 27, 11:05 a.m.: Rosenblatt's gates will open at 9:45 a.m. to accommodate nearly 10,000 students expected to invade the stadium for the 11th annual Cox Home Run for Youth Day! The students in grades K-12 will attend the game FREE, courtesy of Cox. The day is also presented by 1110 KFAB.
Thursday, April 29, 6:35 p.m.: Due to a scheduling conflict with the College World Series, the Royals and Iowa Cubs will open a four-game series at Rosenblatt, before moving to Des Moines for the final three contests. It's the first visit of the year by the Cubs, now managed by Hall-of-Famer Ryne Sandberg, presented by Kaplan University! It's also Thirsty Thursday, with $1 beer and Cokes, courtesy of Kaplan U., 96.1 The Brew, Action 3 News and The City Weekly!
