April 22, 2010 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Drew Locke's two-run double keyed a three-run fourth as the Round Rock Express topped the Omaha Royals 5-2 in Thursday night's Pacific Coast League action at The Dell Diamond. The game snapped a streak of three consecutive extra-inning affairs for the Express (5-10). Round Rock takes a 2-1 advantage in the series against the Royals (6-9), who won Wednesday's 11-inning affair 5-4.

Chris Shelton snapped a scoreless tie in the fourth with a sacrifice fly. Three batters later, Locke laced a two-run double to right-center. The Express added another run in the fourth when Collin DeLome ripped a two-out double and Jason Castro followed with an RBI single. DeLome's hit snapped an 0-for-24 skid for the Express with runners in scoring position that spanned the previous three games.

Omaha cut the Round Rock lead in half with single spots in the seventh and eighth innings on Cody Clark's RBI fielder's choice and Mike Aviles' RBI double, respectively. However, Matt Kata's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth gave the Express an insurance run, and Yorman Bazardo worked around a one out single in the bottom of the ninth to close the game.

Express starter Wesley Wright (1-0) earned the victory; he worked 6.1 innings and allowed one run on four hits and three walks with one strikeout. Bazardo yielded a run on three hits with two walks over the final 2.0 frames to notch Round Rock's first save of the season.

Royals starter Anthony Lerew (1-2) took the loss after allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts over 5.0 innings.

Four Express batters turned in multiple-hit games, led by Edwin Maysonet's 3-for-4 outing. DeLome, Locke, Jason Bourgeois and Brian Bogusevic each had two hits, while DeLome scored twice.

Marc Maddox and Buck Coats each had two-hit nights for Omaha.

Round Rock and Omaha conclude their four-game series Friday with a 7:05 p.m. CDT first pitch. It also is the final game of the Express' first home stand of the season. Right-hander Josh Banks (1-1, 1.86 ERA) is scheduled to start for Round Rock, while the Royals send right-hander Gaby Hernandez (1-1, 7.31 ERA) to the mound.
