Ovations Food Services Chosen For New Ballpark

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals are proud to announce today that Ovations Food Services, a nationally recognized specialist in food and beverage services for public assembly facilities, has been awarded a new long-term contract to provide specialized food and beverage services to the new Sarpy County Ballpark. It will open in April, 2011 as the new home of the Omaha Royals, AAA affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.

Ovations Food Services, a subsidiary of Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm Comcast-Spectacor, provides quality catering and banquet services to over 100 different facilities throughout North America, including the nearby Iowa Events Center and Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA; the Iowa Speedway in Newton, IA; and the Sioux Falls Pheasants and the Sioux Falls Convention Center in South Dakota.

"I served for years with Ken Young on Minor League Baseball's Board of Trustees and had the privileged to visit most of his Minor League ballparks," said Alan Stein, president of the Omaha Royals. "I was always amazed at the high quality of his food-service operations, particularly the presentation of premium quality food and beverage services. We are thrilled to bring that level of service to our fans and the Omaha metro area."

"Applying Ovations new and exciting food service concepts will enable guests the opportunity to thoroughly appreciate and experience everything the ballpark has to offer," said Ovations Food Services President Ken Young.

The spectacular new ballpark features a scoreboard bar in left field, 15 luxury suites, a stadium club, and four unique group party areas. Ovations Food Services will be involved in assisting in the overall design and layout of the food service program, including implementing the company's Everything's Fresh(tm) program. Several exciting food concepts will also be added to the lineup, including new Nebraska-based food offerings and Hot Dog Nation(tm), which features specialty hot dogs from around the country. Fans will also enjoy some of the long-standing favorites that are currently at Rosenblatt Stadium as well as new items where guests can feed on all-beef hot dogs to giant grilled chicken breasts to an all-new dessert bar with plenty of delicious sides to compliment.

Ovations Food Services, a Tampa-based company, provides services to over 100 different venues throughout North America, including Minor League ballparks such as Harbor Park, home of the Norfolk Tides; AutoZone Park, home of the Memphis Redbirds; Isotopes Park, home of the Albuquerque Isotopes; and Chukchansi Park, home of the Fresno Grizzlies. The company also manages convention and exposition centers like the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati, OH; The Atlantic City Convention Center and Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ and the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, TN.
