Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release
Bowling Green, KY - The Hot Rods wrap up the month of July and head into August with a busy week at Bowling Green Ballpark. Postgame fireworks kick off the stand before the Hot Rods celebrate back-to-school and the legacy of Michael Jackson with a special performance on Thursday night. Saturday, July 30 - Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati Reds) - 7:05 PM
Fantastic Fireworks Series: The best fireworks show in town lights up the sky after the opener of this three-game series against the future stars of the Cincinnati Reds, presented by Allstate Family Protection Group, Candlewood Suites, Allstate Kentucky Protection Group, and WBKO
Holley Hot Rod Parade: A pre-game event featuring local car owners competing in a season-long promotion to earn the Holley Hot Rod Trophy at the end of the season.
Sunday, July 31 - Dayton Dragons - 5:05 PM
Back-to-School: The Hot Rods celebrate back to school with a special folder giveaway for the first 1,000 kids courtesy of Great Clips. All kids in attendance receive free Kids Play Area admission before the game. Plus, postgame they can run the bases like the Hot Rods in the Smucker's Uncrustables Fun Run.
Franklin-Simpson County Benefit: A portion of ticket sales will support the Franklin-Simpson Boys & Girls Club.
Autograph Session: Beginning at 3:45, Hot Rods players will be available to sign autographs for all fans in attendance.
Monday, August 1 - Dayton Dragons - 6:35 PM
Wacky New Promotion: Known for his crazy antics (like sleeping in the stadium, for charity, for 13 consecutive nights in 2010) Hot Rods on-field MC Kyle Hanrahan will be doing ridiculous things all night long - at your request!
Dayton Team Notes:
The Dragons are off to the best second half start in the Midwest League, winning 23 of their first 32 games since the All-Star break.
Dayton has the league's top three strikeout leaders on their pitching staff: Daniel Renken, Josh Smith, and Daniel Corcino.
Speedster Billy Hamilton is having a strong second half. He is hitting .297 with a home run and 13 RBI. He is second in the Midwest League with 68 runs scored. He also leads all of baseball with 74 stolen bases.

Michael Jackson Tribute Night: The Hot Rods honor the King of Pop with a special performance by world renown, The Amazing Christopher. Too amazing to describe, you have to join us at the ballpark to witness this amazing performer celebrate the life of Michael Jackson in song and dance.
Barren County Night: A portion of ticket sales will benefit the development and addition of ball fields at Jackie Browning Park in Barren County.
Friday, August 5 - Fort Wayne TinCaps - 7:05 PM
Faith & Family Night: With partners Liberty University and Christian Family Radio, the Hot Rods host the final Faith & Family Night of the season with a collection of pre-game and in-game activities. Liberty will award a $16,000 scholarship to a local student looking to pursue an education at the Virginia-based institution.
FRITOS Family Friday: Fans can enjoy a variety of unique ballpark experiences courtesy of FRITOS.
Fort Wayne Team Notes:
This is the second of two meetings between the Hot Rods and TinCaps in Bowling Green. They split four games early in the season before the Hot Rods won two of three in Indiana.
Through 30 games, the TinCaps were off to a good start in the second half with a 16-14 record, sitting one game out of a second-half playoff spot.
Rymer Liriano has been a big force in the line-up since joining the team in late April. He is tied for fifth with a .312 average, second with 47 steals, and fifth with a .511 slugging percentage. He has 11 homers and 46 RBI on the year.
