Columbus, Ohio - Victor Reyes launched two of the Toledo Mud Hens five home runs as the club defeated it's in state rival the Columbus Clippers 12-5 on Wednesday night at Huntington Park.

Reyes went 3 for 5 at the plate with two home runs, six RBI and four runs scored to lead the Mud Hens (23-33) to its first sweep of the 2019 campaign as it defeated the Clippers (33-25) in three straight games.

Mikie Mahtook, Willi Castro and Dustin Peterson also tallied home runs as Toledo won its fourth straight contest, the longest winning streak of the season for the Mud Hens.

Toledo found itself with the bases loaded and no outs in the first inning after Columbus RHP Michael Peoples walked three straight batters. Victor Reyes then hit into a fielder's choice allowing Danny Woodrow to score as the Mud Hens took an early lead. Reyes then stole second and Daniel Pinero advanced home on a throw into the outfield giving Toledo a 2-0 advantage. Daz Cameron reached on an error, moving Reyes to third. Peterson then singled through the left side of the infield allowing Reyes to score as the Hens went into the bottom of the first up by three.

Reyes belted a long ball with Castro on first to give Toledo a 5-0 lead with no outs in the third inning.

In the fifth inning, Castro belted a ball out of the stadium and onto the road behind right field as the Mud Hens went up six. Reyes then singles and moved to third on a single to right by Mahtook. Cameron then hit a sacrifice fly to left field brining in Reyes as Toledo went up by a touchdown. Kody Eaves delivered a two-out single to bring in Peterson as the Hens continued to pour on runs taking an 8-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth.

Bobby Bradley got Columbus on the scoreboard in the sixth inning with a solo home run to right field. Trayce Thompson followed with a long ball of his own as the Clippers came within six with two outs.

LHP Matt Hall made an unexpected start as LHP Tyler Alexander was slated to pitch. Hall got the win going six innings allowing two runs on five hits while walking one and fanning seven. RHP Carlos Torres came on in relief for Toledo in the seventh inning.

Reyes put another charge into the ball in the eighth inning with two runners on for his second home run of the evening and fourth in the past two games. Mahtook then drilled a ball over the fence as the Hens went up 12-2.

The Clippers found success in the eighth inning plating three runs on three hits and an error cutting its deficit to 12-5.

Columbus brought in IF Ryan Flaherty to pitch the ninth inning, and Peterson took him yard for the Hens fifth home run of the game giving the team a 13-5 lead.

RHP Jose Cisnero held off the Clippers attack in the ninth inning as the Mud Hens won its fourth straight game by a score of 13-5.

What's Next:

The Toledo Mud Hens come back to the 419 and begin a four-game series with the Indianapolis Indians with first pitch on Thursday evening set for 7:05 p.m. at Fifth Third Field.

Hens' Notes:

- The Mud Hens hit six home runs in the three-game series against the Clippers.

- In the last ten games, OF Victor Reyes has been on a terror. He went 17 of 38 from the plate with two doubles, five home runs and 23 RBI while striking out six times for a .447 average.

- Toledo outscored Columbus 36-15 over the three games.
