
Hoggan Assigned To Providence

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League, announced today that the Boston Bruins have assigned right wing Jeff Hoggan to the P-Bruins after one scoreless game in the National Hockey League. With the move, the P-Bruins now have 22 players on their roster, including 12 forwards, seven defensemen and three goaltenders.
Hoggan, 30, is in his seventh professional season and second in the Boston organization. The winger was recalled by Boston on an emergency basis Saturday before recording three hits in 7:57 minutes of ice-time on Sunday as the Bruins fell to the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 in overtime. The game was his first in Boston this season.
The veteran forward has had a career campaign offensively in Providence this year, notching personal-highs with 28 goals, 30 assists and 58 points, powered by 17 multiple-point outings. The native of Hope, British Columbia, also has a plus-37 rating to lead the AHL. Hoggan spent the bulk of last year with Boston, tallying a pair of assists in 46 games. He also added four goals and 11 points in 22 P-Bruins games. Undrafted out of the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Hoggan originally signed with Boston on July 21, 2006. He has previous NHL experience with the St. Louis Blues, spending the entire 2005-06 season with the club. As a pro, Hoggan has 77 goals, 74 assists and 151 points in 377 games, 99 contests in the NHL.
Providence is back in action with three games next weekend, beginning Friday with Tuukka Rask Bobblehead Night as the P-Bruins host the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:05 p.m. The bobbleheads are courtesy of WEEI 103.7 FM, NBC 10, Getty and 2nd Time Around Sports. As always, Providence Bruins Promotional Nights are presented by Dunkin' Donuts and your New England Dodge Dealers. The P-Bruins take on the Lowell Devils at the Tsongas Arena Saturday at 7:05 p.m. for their only road tilt of the week. Providence wraps up the weekend Sunday by hosting the Manchester Monarchs at 4:05 p.m. Sunday is a Family Game, as fans can purchase one ticket, one hot dog and one soda for just $16.
