
Hitmen to host Lethbridge Saturday

Calgary, AB - Brett Davis scored a shorthanded breakaway goal with 1:50 remaining to lift the Kootenay ICE to a 4-3 victory over the Calgary Hitmen.
After a scoreless first period the Hitmen saw leads of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 erased by the visitors on Thursday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Colton Veloso netted a pair of goals for the ICE with Alec Baer producing a single. The WHL's top-scoring rookie Peyton Krebs chipped in a pair of assists.
Orca Wiesblatt, Mark Kastelic and Luke Coleman found the back of the net for Calgary. Kastelic, who added an assist, now has points in six of his last seven games.
The ICE, aided by eight power play chances, outshot the Hitmen 38-13.
Calgary will now prepare to cap 2017 with a home game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday, Dec. 30. Game time is 7:00 p.m. for Airdrie Day at the 'Dome presented by Southland Transportation.
