Royals Swing Deal with Pats

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals are pleased to announce that the club has acquired forward Braydon Buziak (1998) from the Regina Pats in exchange for forward Jared Legien (1998) and a conditional draft pick.

To this point this season, Buziak has played in 32 games for the Pats and has registered seven points (2g-5a) and 46 penalty minutes. Over 87 career regular season contests, all with Regina, the product of Battleford, SK has earned 22 points (13g-9a) and 121 minutes in penalties.

The 6-0, 191 lb forward also skated in 23 playoff games last season and collected one goal and four assists for five points as Regina reached the WHL Final.

Buziak was added to the Pats' 50-man Protected List and signed to a Standard Player Agreement in 2016.

Jared Legien

Over 36 games this season, Legien has recorded 33 points (13g-20a) and 36 minutes in penalties.

A native of the Regina area, Legien has played in 120 WHL games split between the Royals and Kootenay ICE (2014-present) and has scored 42 points (17g-25a) to go along with 77 penalty minutes.

The 6-1, 206 lb winger was added to Victoria's 50-man protected player list earlier this year and signed during the team's training camp in August.

Victoria returns to action from the holiday break, with a pair of home games against the Prince George Cougars tonight and tomorrow night. Both contests are set for 7:05 p.m. starts.
