Everett Silvertips News Release
LANGLEY, British Columbia - Connor Dewar (5 points), Riley Sutter (four goals and an assist), and Bryce Kindopp (two assists) combined for 12 points as the Everett Silvertips set a new franchise record for most goals in a game, cruising to an 11-0 victory over the Vancouver Giants before 4,046 fans at Langley Events Centre on Wednesday in WHL action.
Coming out of the holiday break, the Silvertips blasted four goals on nine shots in the first period and tied a franchise record (for the second straight game) for most goals in a period (5) in the middle frame. Riley Sutter's four goals (first career hat trick) were the most by a Silvertip in a game since Remi Laurencelle in 2015-16.
First year netminder Dustin Wolf earned his sixth win in eight games and second career shutout in three games. The Tips have scored 18 goals in the last two games, both bookending the holiday break.
Riley Sutter banked in a power play goal off David Tendeck from behind the right goal line at 2:28 and earned his second of the game at 12:43 on a snapper between the circles, set up by Kindopp from the right corner.
Kindopp then fed Dewar's backhand conversion on a two-on-one with four minutes left in the period and Dewar walked out from the right corner to bury a snapper on a delayed penalty with 55 seconds left for a 4-0 bulge.
The Silvertips then torched Vancouver and relief netminder Todd Scott for five goals in the second to take a 9-0 lead. Riley Sutter tapped in a Dewar attempt from the left circle for his hat trick at 2:21 and Sean Richards drove the net from the right wing just 1:16 later for a 6-0 advantage. Orrin Centazzo's first of two goals put the Tips up 7-0 at 5:49 and Jake Christiansen deflected Richards' feed to the left circle at 16:43 for an 8-0 cushion.
Matt Fonteyne posted the Tips' second power play goal of the night with 45 seconds left in the second period, set up solely by Wolf's long outlet, breakaway pass to catch Vancouver slow on a line change.
Ian Walker's right point blast caromed off Sutter at the Vancouver net for a 10-0 lead at 11:28 in the third period and Centazzo seized the record goal on a backhand deflection from Brandson Hein at 17:18, officially closing the barrage with Tendeck returning to the net in the third period to replace Scott.
