
Hitmen Fall to Medicine Hat

Calgary, AB - Fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive, the Medicine Hat Tigers scored three unanswered third period goals to beat the Calgary Hitmen 4-3 on Sunday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Zach Fisher, Mason Shaw, David Quenneville and Matthew Bradley all scored for Medicine Hat. Bradley's goal snapped a 3-3 tie with 8:23 remaining in regulation.
Travis Sanheim, Radel Fazleev and Bryce Platt replied for Calgary who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end. Jakob Stukel chipped in a pair of assists while Tyler Mrkonjic skated in his 200th career regular season game.
Medicine Hat wraps up a successful season series, picking up 10 of a possible 12 points in the six-game set.
The loss means the Hitmen will now finish third in the Western Hockey League's Central Division and will face either Red Deer or Lethbridge in the first round of the post-season.
Calgary, 39-26-2-2, returns to action Tuesday, Mar. 15 (7:00 p.m., Sportsnet 960-The Fan) in Red Deer against the Rebels.
The Hitmen will then wrap up the 2015-16 regular season with a home-and-home series against Kootenay, starting Friday, Mar. 18 in Cranbrook (7:00 p.m.) before hosting the ICE on Sunday, Mar. 20 at 1:00 p.m.
