Vancouver Giants News Release

Kamloops, B.C. - Jake Kryski scored the lone goal in the shootout to lift the Kamloops Blazers to a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Giants on Saturday night at the Sandman Centre. Radovan Bondra had Vancouver's goal while Ryan Kubic stopped 38 shots in the Giants' crease.

Neither team found the net in the first period, but Bondra broke the deadlock on a power play in the middle frame, beating Kamloops goalie Connor Ingram with a shot from the left circle. The G-Men held the advantage until just after the seven minute park of the third period when Gage Quinney tied the score for the Blazers with a power play goal of his own.

The game would require overtime, and Trevor Cox nearly won it for Vancouver on a breakaway when he was stopped by Ingram before missing the target after picking up his own rebound, and after 65 minutes of action, it went to the shootout.

Brennan Menell, Alec Baer and Cox all failed to score for Vancouver while Kryski netted the only goal for Kamloops to give them the extra point.
