Hitmen Acquire Forward Tyson Greenway from Americans

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club have acquired 20-year-old forward Tyson Greenway from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft.

"We are adding a veteran overage player to our team who brings experience and plays a heavy game," said Director of Hockey Operations Garry Davidson. "Not only will he help us up front, but we see him playing a part in our leadership group as well."

Tyson Greenway was drafted by the Tri-City Americans in round four (80th overall) in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft. The 2003-born forward is coming off a career high year, registering 42 points (27g, 15a) in 68 games in the 2022-23 season. With this acquisition Calgary has filled their last overage spot on the roster. Greenway has played in 210 career Western Hockey League games.

Next up for Calgary is a road game in Lethbridge on Oct. 18 before returning to Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday, Oct. 20 to host the defending WHL Champion Seattle Thunderbirds in a 7:00 p.m. start.
