Americans Acquire Pick from Calgary Hitmen in Exchange for Tyson Greenway

Tri-City Americans News Release

Kennewick, WA - Tri-City Americans general manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has traded 2003-born forward Tyson Greenway to the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick.

"This was a very difficult decision as Tyson has been with us for four years and has been an exceptional person," said Tory. "However, with Parker Bell returning from the Calgary Flames, the WHL rules allow us to only carry three 20-year-old players and a decision had to be made. We wish Tyson the best in his future endeavors both on and off the ice."

Greenway, from St. Albert, Alta., was drafted by the Americans 80th overall in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft. He has spent his entire WHL career with the Americans appearing in 210 regular season games, recording 84 points (41-43-84). Last season he posted a career high 42 points (27-15-42) before adding another six points (5-1-6) in six playoff games.

The Americans would like to thank Greenway for his contributions on the ice and in the community over his four years with the organization.
