
Hitmen Acquire Defenceman Fraser Leonard from Blades

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club have traded Grayden Siepmann to the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for defenceman Fraser Leonard, a second-round pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft (via Spokane), a sixth-round pick in 2026 and a second-round pick in the 2027 Prospects Draft.
"Fraser is a quality '06 right shot defenceman, a piece that is missing within our current roster and listed group." said Director of Hockey Operations Garry Davidson, "We believe he has the ability to grow into an integral part of our defensive core in the future." continued Davidson. "In addition, the acquisition of these three picks will benefit us in the retooling of our program down the road."
Fraser Leonard was drafted by the Saskatoon Blades in round four (68th overall) in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. The 2006-born defenceman will return to his hometown of Calgary, AB, where he spent the last two seasons with the Edge School with both the U18 and U16 programs. Leonard finished the season with Edge School U18 Prep tallying 21 points (1G, 20A) in 33 games.

Leonard will join the team in Moose Jaw this afternoon. Calgary will play the Warriors tonight before travelling to Regina to take on the Pats on Wednesday night.
