Portland, Ore. - The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club is proud to recognize 12 alumni who have been named to National Hockey League opening night rosters ahead of the 2023-24 regular season.
The Winterhawks boast the most alumni on NHL Opening Night rosters of any U.S. Division team and the second-most among WHL clubs, trailing only the Kelowna Rockets with 14.

The NHL season begins today with a slate of three games, all featuring Winterhawks alumni. Cody Glass and the Predators take on the Tampa Bay Lightning today at 2:30pm PT, followed by Seth Jones and the Blackhawks visiting Pittsburgh for a battle with Johnny Ludvig and the Penguins at 5:00pm. Then, Adin Hill and the Stanley Cup Champion Golden Knights take on Bjorkstrand and the Seattle Kraken at 7:30pm.
Jarvis (CAR), Johansen (COL), and Niederreiter (WPG) kick off their campaigns on Wednesday, Hofer (STL) and Jokiharju (BUF) take the ice on Thursday, and Dumba (ARI) is set to make his Coyotes debut on Friday.
