
Hitmen 2019 Training Camp Day Two Reca

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club opened the on-ice portion of their 2019 Training Camp with rookie and main camp skates for the 79 players Thursday at Kyle Stuart Memorial Arena at Edge School. The day consisted of one goalie session, four practices and a pair of games.
Below is a recap of both contests which featured two 30 minute periods for the rookies and a pair of 25 minute scrimmage sessions for main camp.
Rookie Camp Game: Team Moran 5 Team Jones 2
Jacob Lamoureux tallied a team-high two goals while Kalum Mucenski chipped in a pair of assists to lead Team Moran which also received markers from Shayne Tibbles, Cody Pisarczyk and Rylan Jockims. Goaltender Ethan Buenaventura stopped all 10 shots he faced in 21 minutes of work to record the win. For Team Jones, Nathan Pilling and Grayden Siepmann both scored once.
Main Camp Game: Team Getzlaf 5 Team Ladd 0
Mark Kastelic scored twice and added an assist while Devan Klassen also netted a pair of goals to power Team Getzlaf. Mo Hakim rounded out the scoring with goaltenders Jack McNaughton and Ethan Hein combining for a 17 save shutout. McNaughton made eight saves and Hein nine.
Day three of the five-day camp continues tomorrow, Friday, August 30, with four scrimmages beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Kyle Stuart Memorial Arena at Edge School.
On Saturday, August 31, camp will begin with a Main Camp Three-On-Three Game at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Young Guns Game at 1:00 p.m., showcasing the top 15, 16 and 17-year-olds at training camp.
The annual Intrasquad Game will once again act as the conclusion of camp on Sunday, September 1, with a 12:00 p.m. puck drop.
All on-ice sessions are free and open to the public.

The Hitmen open the 2019 Western Hockey League pre-season with a home-and-home against the Oil Kings beginning at the Downtown Community Arena in Edmonton on Friday, September 6. Then on Saturday, September 7, Calgary hosts the Oil Kings at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut'ina Nation in a 7:00 p.m. start. Tickets are on sale now at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex for $10 each. The four-game schedule concludes on Sunday, September 15, with the lone game at the Scotiabank Saddledome against the Red Deer Rebels. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
The 68-game regular season schedule begins on the road in Swift Current against the Broncos on Saturday, September 21. The Hitmen home opening weekend begins on Friday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m. against the Oil Kings. Calgary returns to Scotiabank Saddledome ice two days later on Sunday, September 29, against the Medicine Hat Tigers. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
The 2019-20 Hitmen Hockey Pass is on sale now and includes 33 game tickets plus one ticket voucher to be used anytime, in any combination. Pass holders also receive a special 25th anniversary jersey, $50 Scotiabank Saddledome gift card and a complimentary ticket to a select Flames, Roughnecks or Stampeders game. Passes start at less than $7 per ticket for kids and under $15 for adults.
